Sometimes you need to kick yourself in the butt a little.

Not to tear yourself down, but to build you up.

To ask hard questions. To put yourself to the test.

That’s why journaling is so valuable. It’s a labratory for sorting out exactly who you are.

And sometimes, that means coming face to face with ourselves in a open and honest way.

This Week’s Prompts:

  1. What am I avoiding and why?
  2. Do my actions align with my goals?
  3. Am I living or just existing day to day?
  4. What’s actually in my control and what’s not?

I’ve asked myself these very same questions over and over.

Uncomfortable? They definitely can be. But you know what? That means it’s working. These are the types of questions you ask when you want to change the direction of your life.

The answers help break the cycle that keeps you in exactly the same spot, day after day, year after year.

Time to put honesty to the test.

One of my four guiding principles of effective journaling is honesty. Without it, there’s no point.

If you’re lying in your journal, who do you think you’re fooling? I’ll tell you. Yourself.

So take a few minutes today and answer these questions honestly.

Build a path away from a life you’re just floating through and toward a life where you’re actually living.
